Frequently asked questions

What is a good readability score?

For general audiences, aim for Flesch Reading Ease 60–70 (8th-9th grade). For academic or technical content, 30–50 is normal.

How does Flesch-Kincaid work?

It calculates grade level from average sentence length and average syllables per word. Grade 8 = easy to read for most adults.
