MP4 to MP3

Pull the soundtrack, podcast or music out of a video and save it as an MP3. Everything runs in your browser via ffmpeg.wasm — nothing is uploaded.

Last updated: July 2026

MP4 to MP3 extracts the audio track from a video and saves it as an MP3 file. Choose a video, pick a quality (128–320 kbps), and the tool re-encodes just the audio using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly — entirely in your browser, so the video is never uploaded. The engine downloads once on first use, then is cached.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded?

No — the audio is extracted locally in your browser via ffmpeg.wasm. Only the engine binary is downloaded (once).

Why is the first run slower?

The FFmpeg engine (~32 MB) loads on first use, then it's cached for the rest of your session.

What video formats work?

Most common ones — MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and more — as long as they contain an audio track.
