Compress PDF

Compress PDF shrinks a PDF's file size by re-rendering its pages at an adjustable quality — ideal for email attachments and uploads. Select several PDFs to compress them all in one pass and download them together as a .zip. Everything runs in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How does the compression work?

Each page is re-rendered to a compressed image and rebuilt into a new PDF. This works especially well for scanned or image-heavy PDFs.

Can I compress several PDFs at once?

Yes. Select multiple PDFs and they're compressed one at a time (to keep memory low), then offered as individual downloads or a single .zip.

Will the text still be selectable?

No — because pages are rasterised, text becomes part of the image. Use PDF to Text first if you need the text.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No, compression happens entirely in your browser.
